The Way
An experiential development program
that creates impactful change.
An experiential development program that creates
impactful change.
Empirical research in the field of leadership development and general management shows that many development programs that are set in a typical conference-room settings tend to fail in terms of achieving long term effects. In contrast, our approach is based on experiential development that offer profound, fast and long lasting impact. This approach relies on the following principles:

We take a holistic approach. We focus on individual development rather than on specific management tools.

We combine experiences from the academic and corporate worlds. Our programs are evidence-based, which ensures profound and long-lasting results.

We attend to each individual and their specific situation. In effect, every participant gets a tailor-made program within the program.

We take leadership development outdoors. Nature creates a powerful context in which participants disconnect and regain clarity.
The how

Day 1: Current Self. Mapping where you are
This day is focused on mapping your current situation. It is about identifying the key issues by exploring who you are at this point, what is your current state of mind, and what shaped you. In addition, the first day is dedicated to creating a space of trust, openness, reflection and intimacy.

Day 2: Future Self. Envisioning your path ahead
In this day the focus is on your future self and the person you aspire to become, shifting the view from the present to the desired future. Research on the role of visions suggests that clear envisioning of one’s path ahead is key not only to future progress and success, but also to greater resilience towards dealing with present difficulties.

Day 3: Bridging from your current to your future self
What resources do I already have? What more do I need? What relationships can help me? Three decades of academic research on goals has shown that the setting of specific targets are essential key in approaching one’s development and tracking one’s accomplishments. This day is about making your goals concrete

Day 4: The Action Plan
This day is focused on integrating the learning over the past days. You will take your first step towards realizing your goals by devising an action plan. This day is about taking the hike back into your daily life and making it happen.
Group dynamics play an important role in the hike. Interacting with others who go through similar experiences like yours is a source of feedback and support during the hike. A set of exercises and activities is integrated into each day of the hike.
